Applications and Selection of Applications
- Only 1000 applications will be accepted for the competition on first come first served and district quota basis. The district quota is derived based on the student population proportion of districts in the country.
- Only one team from each school consisting of four participants is allowed to participate in the competition.
- Applied team should consist of the students who are currently studying in grade 9 - 12 in the relevant school.
- It is possible to amend the team members who have been nominated in the application form, before the commencement of the first round exam. This can be done on the day of the first round examination under the approval of the principal of the school.
- Decisions made by the judges will be the final and the organizing committee reserves all the decision making privileges.
- Identity of the team members and the teacher in-charge of the team should be certified by the principal of the relevant school.
- National ID, Postal ID or a certified photograph of the student by the principal of the school, should be produced to confirm the identity. In case of a certified photograph, two copies are required of which one would be retained with the organizing committee.
- The closing date for applications is 24th of April 2008 and all the late applications will be rejected.
- If teams fail to register before the relevant date and time, their application will be rejected.
- The competition will consist of three main rounds as shown below.

- Examination procedure and other relevant details will be forwarded to the school with admission letter in response to their application.
- Number of schools selected from each district will depend on the quota as shown below.

Selection criteria of schools for the second examination (Province Level)
- Eight schools will be selected from each district.
- If the amount of students exceeds 300,000 in a particular district additional three schools will be selected from that district.
- If the amount of students exceeds 200,000 in a particular district additional one school will be selected from that district.
- If the amount of students is below 50,000 in a particular district only five schools will be selected from that district.
