1.What
are the charges for downloading UCSCSellinam?
Charges vary for different service operators and it is charged
on a Pay-per-Use basis.(2 cents per 1 kilobyte in Sri Lanka).
UCSCSellinam is about the size of 36kb.
2.How many characters can
be included include in a one message?
In our normal SMS system 160 characters are counted as a single
message. If the characters exceed more than 160 that would
be counted as 2 messages. But using the UCSCSellinam, almost
70 characters are counted as a single message. If the characters
exceed more than 70 then it would be counted as two and then
so.
3.I have downloaded the application, but I could
not find it in my phone. Where do I look for it?
“Games and Others” or "Applications"
or "Fun-Box" folder.
4.Should my recipients have UCSCSellinam in their
phones to read my messages?
No. In order to read the messages in Tamil, your recipients
must have UCSCSellinam in their phones. Otherwise, they will
read your message in phonetic Tamil. Note that some of the
old phone models may not support receiving the message in
phonetic, but most phones do.
5.Can I send and receive SMS in Tamil with my friends
and family in Sri Lanka and other countries?
Yes. The recipients from the other countries must also have
the same application to receive in Tamil.
6.I have UCSCSellinam already installed in my mobile
phone, can I download UCSCSellinam again onto my phone?
No. First You have to delete your existing UCSCSellinam. Then you have to install the UCSCSellinam again.
7.What is the difference between UCSCSellinam and
other Tamil SMS in the market?
UCSCSellinam is free to use and has no subscription fee. But
for sending messages charges are calculated by the service
operators. The charges are as usually for sending message charge
charged by the provider.
But other Tamil SMS applications are commercial product if
you want to access their product, you would be asked to subscript
to activate.
UCSCSellinam is the only one free subscription fee Tamil
SMS application available in the world.
8.How do I compose a Tamil text Message?
1. Composing Tamil text is very easy with this SMS application.
Just compose
as you would compose in Phonetic and
you will see the text in Tamil.
2. To get repeating character use [#] key.
3. You can see all the vowels and consonants are assigned
for these 9 keys. So there is no issue
to type vowels and consonant. If you want combined character,
first you have to write consonant
after that vowel then combined character will be generated.
Example: [a][m][#][A] or [a][m][m][A]
9. How will I know when I receive a UCSCSellinam?
As soon as a Tamil SMS is received, a message is popped up
saying you have received a new UCSCSellinam message.
10. Can I see the SMSs that I have sent?
Yes. To view the sent SMSs, first you need to select Sent
Item from the home menu.
There you will see the contact numbers which you have messaged.
Once you select the
respective contact number, you will be able to see the message
and at the same time,
can edit the message and resend to any body.
11. How much does it cost?
It is totally free.
12. Is it available worldwide?
Yes, anyone can download from anywhere and use it worldwide
