  • Prof G N Wikramanayake - Director (Chairman)

Prof Gihan Wikramanayake took over as director in May 2010. He was the Deputy Director of UCSC (2004-07) and head of department (2002-05). Prof Wikramanayake is a graduate from University of Colombo and obtained his Masters and PhD in Computing from University of Wales, Cardiff. In 2008-09 he spent his Sabbatical leave in Sweden and USA. Prof Wikramanayake played the role of the Academic Coordinator of the flagship BIT degree programme and the first Computer Science Special degree Programme at University of Colombo. He has served and still serves in several Boards, Computer Societies and Committees. He is the Chairman of the BCS the Chartered Institute for IT Sri Lanka Section and a council member of the BCS the Chartered Institute for IT UK.

  • Dr D N Ranasinghe - Deputy Director

Dr Nalin Ranasinghe is the deputy director of UCSC since 2008. He graduated from UK having done his undergraduate and postgraduate studies in London. Later he completed his PhD at Cardiff University, UK. Dr Ranasinghe has served the board as head of CIS from 2004-2008.

  • Mr Piyasena Ranepura - Nominee, Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education

Mr. Ranepura is serving the board as a nominee of the Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education since 2009.

  • Mr R Uduwawela - Nominee, Ministry of Finance

Mr. Uduwawela is serving the board as a nominee of the Secretary, Ministry of Finance since 2010.

  • Prof T R Ariyaratne -Dean, Faculty of Science

Prof Ariyaratne is the Dean of the Faculty of Science since Jan 2008. He is a professor of Physics. Prof Ariyaratne graduated from University of Ceylon and obtained his PhD from Durham University, UK. Prof Ariyaratne is serving the board since 2008.

  • Mr. G K A Dias - Head, Dept. of Communication & Media Technologies (CMT)

Mr. Kapila Dias is the head of External and Extension programmes. He is a graduate from University of Colombo and obtained his MPhil in Computing from University of Wales, Cardiff. Mr. Dias has served the board as head of CMT since April 2010 and as a nominee of the Academic Syndicate during 2005, 2009-2010.

  • Mr G P Seneviratne - Head, Dept. of Computation & Intelligent Systems (CIS)

Mr. Gihan Seneviratne is the head of internal undergraduate programmes. He is a graduate from University of Colombo and obtained his Masters and MPhil in Computing from University of Wales, Cardiff. Mr. Seneviratne has served the board as head of CIS during 2002-2003 and again since 2009 as well as a nominee of the Academic Syndicate during 2005-2008.

  • Prof N D Kodikara - Head, Dept. of Information Systems Engineering

Prof Nihal Kodikara is the head of postgraduate studies. He graduated from University of Colombo and obtained his Masters and PhD in Computing at University of Manchester, UK. Prof. Kodikara has served the board as the deputy director during 2002-2003, as head of CMT during 2002-2003 and as head of ISE since 2005.

Mr. Maliyadda is serving the board as a nominee of the Council of the University of Colombo since 2009.

  • Mr Mahinda Rajapakse - Nominee, Council, UOC

Mr. Rajapakse is serving the board as a nominee of the Council of the University of Colombo since 2009.

  • Prof K H Thennakoon - Nominee, Senate, UOC

Prof Kamani Tennakoon is the Director Institute of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. She is a professor of Physiology. Prof Tennakoon is serving the board as a nominee of the Senate of the University of Colombo since 2008.

  • Mr S Mudalige - Nominee, University Grants Commission

Mr Sujeewa Mudalige is a Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers and the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. Mr Mudalige is serving the board as a nominee of the UGC since 2004.

  • Deshamanya Mr M D D Pieris - Nominee, University Grants Commission

Mr. M.D.D. Pieris served in various positions in government as a member of the Ceylon Civil Service and thereafter, the Sri Lanka Administrative Service. Among the positions held were those of Secretary to the Prime Minister and Secretary to the Ministries of Agriculture, Food and Co-operatives; Public Administration Provincial Councils and Home Affairs and Education and Higher Education. He has served and still serves on numerous Boards and Councils in the Public Sector; private sector and the University sector. He is a Bachelor of Arts of the University of Ceylon and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, U.K., The University of Colombo has conferred on him the Degree of Doctor of Letters Honoris Causa and the Post Graduate Institute of Medicine has conferred on him the title of Senior Honorary Fellow of the Institute. He was conferred the national honour of Deshamanya in November 2005.

  • Mr Jayantha De Silva - Representative, IT Industry

Mr Jayantha De Silva is the Vice President of IFS South Asia and Managing Director, IFS Sri Lanka. Mr De Silva is serving the board as a representative of the IT industry since 2003.

  • Mr. Mano Sekeram - Representative, IT Industry

Mr. Mano Sekeram is the CEO of Eurocenter DDC. Mr. Sekeram is serving the board as a repreesentative of the IT industry since 2009.

  • Dr D A S Atukorale - Nominee, Academic Syndicate, UCSC

Dr Ajantha Atukorala is a Senior Lecturer at UCSC. He is a graduate from University of Colombo and he did his PhD in University of Queensland, Australia. He is managing the Network Operations Centre (NOC) of the UCSC. Dr Atukoralais serving the board as a nominee of the Academic Syndicate since 2009.

  • Dr S M K D Arunathilake - Nominee, Academic Syndicate, UCSC

Dr Shiromi Arunathilake is a Senior Lecturer at UCSC. She is a graduate from University of Colombo and obtained her Masters from Sri Jayewardenapura University and PhD in Computing at University of Western Sydney. Dr Arunathilake is the coordinator of the Professional Development Centre of the UCSC and UCSC representative for FITIS. She was the coordinators of the Computing Services Centre of the UCSC and the academic coordinator of the ICT degree programme. Dr Arunathilake is serving the board as a nominee of the Academic Syndicate since 2009.

  • Dr H L Premaratne - Nominee, Academic Syndicate, UCSC

Dr Lalith Premaratne is a Senior Lecturer at UCSC. He is a graduate from University of Peradeniya. He did his postgraduate Diploma and Masters at University of Colombo and competed his PhD in Sweden. Dr Premaratne is the academic coordinator of the ICT programme and a student councillor. Dr Premaratne is serving the board as a nominee of the Academic Syndicate since 2010.

  • Dr A R Weerasinghe - Former Director (Invited)

Two mutually exclusive Sub-Committees, the Finance & Management Committee and the Audit Committee assists the Board of Management. Dr. Weerasinghe has served the UCSC board as Chairperson from 2004-2010 and as Deputy Director and Head of CIS in 2004. He was also the Chairperson of the ICT board during 2001.
